The Creative Process

Custom invitations are very personal, designed to capture your specific vision. Though this may seem daunting, not to worry! I have broken it down, step-by-step below and will assist you along the way, answering any questions you may have and making it an enjoyable process!

STEP 1

GATHER YOUR THOUGHTS

The first step normally happens via email or phone. Here is where we determine your personal style and overall vision for your wedding. This can include (but not limited to) your venue, colour palette, textures, flowers, images that have inspired you, or other stationery you love. Pinterest boards and images you’ve found on the web can be a great help to communicate your vision. I will let you know about all the other paper items you might like to include, to tie the whole theme together (save-the-dates, place cards, welcome sign, etc.). 

STEP 2

SKETCH YOUR MIND

Sketches and the first draft of the custom design are created based on the notes and sketches I have from the initial gathering of ideas. This all happens within the first two weeks of placing your deposit fee.

STEP 3

FEEDBACK

Your honest and candid feedback of the sample is a vital part of the collaborative design process. Requests and changes are incorporated into new samples, keeping in mind your required turnaround time.

STEP 4

PROOF & PRINT

When you are over the moon with the design, a proof will be created for you to view either as a PDF online, or you have the option of a shipped printed proof. After you have checked that all text, design, layout and colours are to your satisfaction and you have emailed your written approval, your design will go into print production. Printing and delivery usually take approximately 2 weeks for New Zealand. For overseas orders, a more accurate timeline will be given as part of the quote.
